How to Create a Community Sauna (Webinar)

April 1 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

1st April, 7 pm
Free Webinar

Community saunas are not-for-profit spaces that are run for the good of the community as a whole. Three leaders, who have all taken different approaches to community sauna, will share their stories of how they got started, the financial model they use, the challenges they faced and how possible it is for any community group to do the same. This webinar is free to attend, all are welcome and there will be an opportunity for questions.

Speakers:

Ragna Marie Flejd
The General Secretary of Oslo Badstuforening, Oslo Sauna Association, Ragna has led the organisation from an idea to its current roster of nineteen saunas across Norway’s Fjord capital. The saunas are not-for-profit, accessible and actively involve the local community.

Charlie Duckworth
A director and co-founders of the Community Sauna CIC at the Old Baths Hackney, Wick, Charlie and his team are on a mission to bring local, affordable and authentic sauna bathing to the UK, and they have had remarkable success so far with four locations across the UK providing a welcoming, warm space to all.

Peter Blach
Peter Blach, a founding member of the Folkestone Sea Swimmers, successfully led the group’s campaign to build a shoreline sauna for their members. It has been a roaring success and is an exciting example for sea swimming groups anywhere to take inspiration from.
